Hello, my name is William Zoeller. I grew up north of Houston around the Spring area near The Woodlands, TX. I attended secondary education at Oak Ridge High School. I was part of the Academy of Science and Technology, a small but prestigious organization that brought the brightest of the students from around the district together to be taught upper level classes. I joined the US Army Reserve at the age of 17 and deployed in 2003 to Kuwait. I received a full-time position working as the Unit Administrator for the unit I deployed with as a result of my success during that deployment. My job responsibilities included managing personnel training, finances, logistics, equipment accountability, safety and unit security between assembly weekends. I later joined the 211th MPAD in College Station, TX as a print journalist and was hired on as their full-time administrator. I was injured during a pre-deployment exercise for a deployment to Iraq in 2010. I returned to College Station where I continued my education and found the discipline of Geology. I found the field fascinating and sought to continue toward a degree until I was approached by members from Texas A&M University and Texas State University about geography. I became even more fascinated and sought to learn everything I could. I enrolled into Texas A&M where I discovered Geographic Information Systems.

Geographic Information Systems quickly became my primary interest. I found the outlet that would fulfill my desire to practice my analytical and creative skills that would serve well in the GIS industry. Since finding GIS, I have worked diligently in focusing my studies, helping my peers through many GIS courses, and learning various additional aspects that make this field so unique.

I will be graduating in May 2014 from Texas A&M University with a BS in Geography with Focus in GIS. I am ready to take everything I have learned in my academic career to work in the real world. I am also seeking an opportunity to be part of something greater than myself and to help make life better for others through the use of GIS technology.
